"A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, 'You are mad; you are not like us." ― St. Antony the Great
I am sitting in a café this morning, as I need an early start to work through a bunch of things where the people say they will be or do something, and they mysteriously don't show up. In some respects, I wonder if the united states is moving to manana time? The coffee tastes great, and I am pondering how to reshape my bonsai tomato plants and working into every flowing leafy green food supply. I have found a few cultivars that do really well inside the controlled spaces and taste amazing too. Perhaps that is what is frustrating me. The crossover with indoor-outdoor growing is providing healthy and amazingly tasty meals. What is not tasteful is the climate in the USA and the world.
Do you ever wish a giant EMP would blast the planet for a week? It's not that I don't want the technologies and conveniences in life. Instead, I think humans are losing their minds with emotions and working from a state of crisis or reaction than taking a deep breath and realizing all will work out fine.
Last evening I was in the gym late and had to watch the news on a bank of televisions in the cardio section thankfully my cardio was only ten minutes, and in that time I watched the scrolling of the text from the audio with all the various politicians, people, and events that mainly were about guns, gun control, and the lunacy of peoples actions. I think I must have stopped on the stair climber when the debate was about calling something domestic terrorism, terrorism, etc. "why not just call it unacceptable lunacy?"
The politicians came on tv. Joe Biden was there. and I kept thinking, "what backroom deal was made the last election to keep you on the sidelines while Mrs. Clinton was given the pass and the email leaks showed how the democratic party was putting the kibosh on any other candidate?"
I think I reached the point where the leaders are lying so much that they don't even remember. Biden, coumo, trump, even the local police were all on tv explaning how they spend all the time for mass shooter training…the list just got longer in the ten minutes, and I realized that there is a lot of people talking and a lot of folks saying things need to be done, yet, few are doing anything, and/or were promoting "awareness" without calling insanity what it actually is. it is like "give me camera time to feed my agenda and perhaps when it gets bad enough we will create some new solution that lacks the common sense to placate the people until the next emotional driven event."
Who is the physicist that got blasted for tweeting facts? Yet, with the behavioral economics of facts versus emotion, the logic was spot on. His timing was off, and he was apologizing if the facts hurt some people. Of course, they hurt many. Unlike stand-up comedy where the worst behavior of humans is twisted to get us to laugh at it. Facts do the opposite with emotional response. They probably bring more emotions alive?
So I will plug away at the woo woo rooms and the controlled ag. I have to confess what started as a bit of a joke when my dad got sick is turning into something incredible at first all the fresh greens plucked off the vine and put into the meals was thought of as, "where is the lettuce from the bag?"
I was a bit hurt as I can't think of a fresher, tastier, healthier meal that something you created and took off the vine to the table. The flavors, textures, tastes….amazing.
Now I have to go away for a few days, and the latest time I had to take a trip no one was there to watch them grow and trim them…and they did grow. I have to trim them tonight as my bonsai tomato plants are more like small trees.
That reminds me. I did a test of basils for a chef friend and forgot about the one version. My god the flavor profile of that tis amazing.
And yeah, I am going out to the landfill for a few hours next week. I am astounded at the waste we produce, and if my theory is correct, I can build an entire house from another trash. hmm (although I was looking at sexy high tech I beam for the woo woo rooms construction…so..hmm…)
