There was an interesting trend I used to see only in public figures but now see in the selfie society. It is as if they have camera radar. Politicians are probably the best at it. They sniff out the media and want all the attention they can garner. this isn't a problem if it is merely doing their job, but I am noticing more and more that people will crawl over each other to get their image in the media. "look at me!"
I don't think I need to do any more research with Instagram, as the results are coming back (at least in the USA) to match what I feared and hoped wasn't reality. Across all age demographics, it appears narcissism and selfdom are growing unabated. I do understand how this all happens, as when I was younger, I was going right along with it all — merchandising, marketing, figuring out ways to make a property to license and scale.
today, you have people branding themselves, and the more I look at the brand after making so many mistakes in life, the more I realize how goofy we are as humans in applying and putting more on or into ourselves instead of letting go of the stuff we probably don't need to be a healthier human.
worry, insecurity, fear, pride, lust, greed….these have been around since the beginning of man and haven't changed much no matter how brilliant of a toolmaker human beings have been.
To solve the world's problems, we will have to go inside, not outside. While the world has changed with information and data, I think if you understand how the data is being manipulated - then you see the lipstick that is put on a pig clearer.
As for is this a united states issue? no…it is a global one. Hopefully, we figure out the solutions for humans being humane before we obliterate ourselves and/or the earth says, "that's enough, you aren't going to damage me anymore" and gets rid of us.
However, the lust for power and greed and the need to somehow be busy and hip – seems to be a tremendous waste of time in the greater reality of life. When I look at the data on people actively wanting to change, I realize there is no shortage of the market changing versus following.
agrowspace has been an idea where we were far out in front of the herd. It is also the feeling of knowing the time is right to deploy it now. I can't explain that feeling, other than if you are following the herd, you probably need to take some time to evaluate your life.
"moo! Take my picture! Wait, I can make my own now! Also, post it! look at me."
Maybe the power of a politician is like a drug to an addict? I don't know anymore
