I was taking a bus into NYC to do some research in the theatrical library and the business/science library that I have walked by several hundred times and never realized what it was. Perhaps it is the empire state building next to it that has always distracted me?
There I fantastic weather out and I am going to try to seek answers to two very different areas of work one is acoustic issues, the other is chemistry issues with distillation of items. Someone said I go to have fun, yet, I don’t find the idea of shoving new information and learning new things as I am not a great learn by rote person. For me making something of the things we do experientially is how i learn best. Yet sometimes to just get as much background and take all your experience and give it your best effort. The acoustic issue has come back to solve a problem ran into 30 years ago, that exists today.
On the way down, time did fly as I sat with an 80-year-old spry native new York city person that moved out after 9-11 and provided her left democratic perspective of the city to me. It really was nice to know you can talk with another human, not agree, yet, you heard each other and have respect for their ideas and yews.
I think the operative word is “construct” as the woman had reasons for her ideas and beliefs. This is not the norm if you walk about the planet. Many times, people say or believe something and have no reason why.
I brought out the story of noel from Mexico in a Russian Orthodox church, and the reality I had with the picture book called “why I go, why I do not go…to church” what was weird is that I found the people that went to church really could not give an individual reason for pushing into god, whereas the folks that no longer went, could provide a reason why. It was both interesting and s a bit sad.
So to the lady on the bus. Thank you for making the time fly with a great conversation about all areas of life, the world, and New York City. It was a lovely blessing into my life.
