We hit a snag with delivery times for some materials and I found myself in a truck driving halfway across the country to pick up the materials, as the original distributor in the area, was going to ship it to two different points versus just coming from the warehouse. It is just the way systems go and/or are developed if the reason, “That is the way it has always been done” is allowed to permeate the system and the idea that, “Better is the evil twin of good enough” is never looked at.
I realize and I understand you need systems and order whenever you get two or more people involved, but what I don’t see happening is that many times people get caught up in more of a tunnel vision that limits the ability for a perpetual improvement of the main priority, and instead, has people filling the time with lots of obligations.
People wonder why they are tired and never seem to have time to exercise, pray, meditate, or take some time for a hobby one is passionate about. The answer is simple. If you don’t take and make some time for yourself and control or value it. you will simply become a bit of a slave to the obligation taskmaster that loves nothing better than to such your time, health, and overall peace of being.
The past few days have been like that. I have been doing things that are necessary evils to get the project to a place where in a few days we can say, “Wow, this not only is amazing with function, but it looks great as well.”
I don't’ think many people realize just how much thought, time, effort, and simply basic common sense elbow grease go into making something great. Instead, I wonder if more and more people think what they see on television in 22 minutes of edited and crafted creative liberty story telling is reality?
I fear more and more, reality is going to be glossed over with the sad reality like the new phones in cameras that can take a series of images and find the best smile of each person. I cringe as when I was taught to take photos, there was a rule, “you don’t manipulate the moment or image.”
Today, it seems that everything is a manipulation. It is odd to me, especially if you seek simple reality in the world today.
