as the world of deep learning, robotics, economic inequality and the spirituality of the meaning of life seem to be coming to a point some called the, “singularity.” I can’t help but apply all the research and time with the work traveling the world and be working with human emotions and alter them – only to come to a space where we work with plants and people – and more and more controlled environments for each to either flourish, and in the human world – have a place to go for inner fitness.
you might say, “isn’t that what churches/mosques/temples are for?” and In the past, I would have said, “yes…that is where you go.” what transpired with my journey is that what all the books were telling and teaching about holy and love…was met through special meetings of other people, circumstances and going alone into nature itself. I wager you can go to a church all your life and never get touched with the love of god because until you open yourself up to it…you might as well walk along in some legalistic checklist of “I am a good person-it-is.”
the external image most of us work so hard to create, usually doesn’t line up with the internal “stuff” we all carry around and for whatever reason, don’t want others to realize, “nope, I am far from perfect.” as I watch the USA, Europe, middle east, and Asia all going on a consumerism bender of sorts, and having to deal with the rules/regulations/ethic/cultural difference of each – you easily get a headache. I hear many people say, “the world isn’t all that much different from one spot to the other and wonder, “did they ever go live anywhere else and experience the deeper difference? or did they read what they know in a book?”
the united states is getting more polar, and I think more folks are afraid and scared of things. the legalism of the secular society is also what worries me with the advent of autonomous advanced artificial intelligence and the ideals of the constitution/declaration of independence. I would love to believe humans can change and adapt to make the country and planet better for all, yet, the probability of that happening, while possible – is very slim.
to really grow, you have to stress yourself. the secular world says, “to acquire as much stuff as possible and ride out your life in comfort and luxury.” I only hear this message from the prosperity bible folks, of which, It appears the preachers are prospering at the expense of many. I don’t think Jesus would require a tricked out custom G650 or bombardier global 5000 xl because he didn’t want to rub shoulders with sinners.
so the convergence I am seeing that is happening…has a lot of things going on – the main elements for all countries are how do they want to use all the tools and technologies – and what are the ideal and beliefs of the people in each group?
it brings me to wonder about the heart and soul…of which I am seeing more miserable and unhappy folks in the west who have an abundance of things – yet – seem pretty lonely. meanwhile, I can go to an orphanage in Africa with people that might not have much in the realm of luxury or comforts – and they have genuine joy.
even our “woo woo” rooms that I came to the states to build out (oops, people in the states say one thing and forget what they say about building a workable space and back out while preaching “we have to help change the world!) sorry – it is something I realize with a lot of the spiritual folks who truly do have nice ideas and even ones that work with scientific principals…but there is a lot of bullsh*t in this area in the united states. so what I am seeing is the “silicon valley syndrome.” what is that? it is folks that have a lot of money, tried a whole lot of things and experiences and still feel a bit empty.
so we have controlled environment rooms for them to go into and spend a little time with themselves.
the irony is this is almost in direct conflict to where we are with the plants and watching the CRISPR/cat 9 rulings of genetic modification. in controlled environments, you get amazing and consistent growth – but not so much in the amazing reality of flavor profiles yet. the EU ruling about CRISPR/cat9 is not something I agree with – but I do understand…that if you screw around with genetics with a few control points in the overall sequence – you will be able to predict most of the side effects of the alteration – what current science is showing, and this Is where the advanced artificial intelligence worries me – is that all of the ramifications with a complex system are not so simple to figure out all that might be changed and altered.
when you are dealing with nature – it has taken billions, millions, hundreds and tens of thousands of years, just on this planet to get where we are today. with humans, we have some special ability’s (like the thumb) and a decent tool making brain where we are making things.
are we making humans the center of our own knowledge of the universe? or will we wake up soon and realize we were a bit foolish in not realizing there is something far greater in the cosmos that is?
I will write more about the Solzhenitsyn speech later…most of what I read is from folks a few thousand years ago. the “a world split apart” was given 40 years ago. it reads with fairly interesting foreshadowing of the reality that is today on the planet.
much more to noodle on this day before I write about that…
