they say you can get the vast majority of your nutritional needs by eating potato’s and having a bit of milk. we have another rule with the hungry kids that says to get iron absorption maximized in their diets, you put some citrus with the leafy greens they eat. there is no reason for anyone to be hungry on this planet, yet, humans have created a very skewed distribution system.
Christmas was a most intense and all too short few days this year. the entire process seemed to just happen in a few days and now I am back to waking up early to do my work, so I can help another with their dreams later in the day. yesterday in church, I was struggling to find any spiritual flow and peace when the infamous potato box popped into my head. it is odd because we don’t really do much with root crops yet, as the technology and cost/space isn’t really viable in controlled environments. it doesn’t mean it won’t work. it simply means you are going to lose a lot in making those products grow indoors.
the potatoes issue will have me looking to a man in japan that came up with an ingenious way to almost vertical farm potatoes. the design of the perpetual potato gizmo always fascinated me in how it could take and allow perpetual growth/harvesting in a tiny space for tubers. I guess after me pulling out the sketchbook in the middle of a church service, I am meant to make some of these boxes, for reasons, I am not entirely sure yet.
if I was a betting man, I would wager that all this work is leading us to a place that is not very nice to think about inside the USA – that being some sort of crash that is not really going to hurt the few that are super wealthy that have much, but rather, the average citizen who will be more like cannon fodder in the eyes of the elected officials. we already have 42 million hungry kids in the country today, that number will grow.
so with the leafy greens, we have the mushrooms, a prototype cured meat system (we shall see, as there is really no way to speed up curing meat all that much…it requires time) , and now potato’s will have to be tested. I am not sure how much energy will be required to grow indoor potato’s, but it will be interesting to try.
wishing you a nice holiday season, I have to go back and find some old sketchbooks with the potato ideas and see how one can make the idea into reality. might be fun for Switzerland and the infamous raclette and food security? the odd part is that probably give me something to do there, as the swiss farmer doesn’t eat that which he doesn’t know. they do know dairy, cheese, cured meats and potato’s.
have a great day. life is just goofy right now. in a few weeks, I should be on a schedule with habits again. the holidays are great, yet, they seem to be more of a monkey wrench with timing issue and moving at full speed.
