Do the folks in Washington running the country & the press realize how bad it all looks to anyone watching?
There is an interesting commandment in the bible that simplifies all the rules and regulations and previous commandments into two simple things. “love God with all your heart, mind, soul…love your neighbor.” it doesn’t say, “just love folks that you like or that like you!” it says, “everyone.”
Perhaps that is what makes life and an actual spiritual journey beyond spoken or printed words so difficult?
If you watch any us news report, you have to wonder, “if this is how the press and leaders behave on camera, does it mean that behind the scenes it is 10 times more dysfunctional with the ego, pride, and lust for power and attention?” it is a sincere question. it is like the top levels are operating at an entirely new level of “look how special I am” and it pretty much applies across the board to all of the folks playing the game for ratings and power.
Is the united states getting worse? or has it always been this bad? I guess this is what happens when folks are running on fumes with reality and believing their own hype? maybe that is where the united states currently is at? I spoke with a Swiss man and we were talking about press, money, economics and the global landscape and when I brought up the entire issue that if we ran a business like our government – we would be let go, or the company would be bankrupt a while ago.’
he shook his head, “yes, this is tvery rue.” then when we went to discuss the per capita wealth (Switzerland is a wealthy little country) He mentioned, “We make a lot, but everyone has a lot of debt.”
The biggest thought with the Swiss when watching the USA is that all the big players are ramping up for a big war, and this doesn’t make them feel all that well, even though while the united states has a giant industrialized military complex – this tiny country finances a whole lot of the conflict on the planet by direct or indirect means. was it the pope, Davos, or Bilderberg meetings that put out that a lot of money is made for the super wealthy via conflicts and the production of weapons and/or weaponization? (I would have to search for that quote)
What I am seeing is not people trying to come together or help and love each other – rather – people only loving that which they selfishly want and desire – of which, while that perspective isn’t incorrect, it is a bit like quantum mechanics or physics in that you only are seeing one finite state or perspective based on what is observed at that exact moment.
A simpler analogy is that of a pizza with all the toppings on it. A lot of people are only looking at their favorite topping and the ones they don’t like, they are screaming at or trying to get off that pizza. the beauty of the everything pizza is that ALL of the toppings are what make is too beautiful. it is what it is – you love the whole thing. it doesn’t mean you have to not eat all the toppings – but if you really are trying to grow – you have to love even that which might not like or want you to be on the pizza as well.
but that is simply a really basic thing I have learned only in the past 14 years? or is it 18?
perhaps that is what is good about getting off the gerbil mill called life with stuff, consumerism, and trying to think one needs to look and act perfect?
you learn that much of what we are doing, is pretty goofy, and you come to a place where you realize just how small you are in the grand scheme of it all – and you find something far greater is behind everything.
it is hard to see when your attention span is on Nano-second speed dial.
what you do see when you step back is how badly everyone is treating each other while thinking how righteous each perspective is in their own minds.
the odd part is everyone is too busy pointing fingers and telling everyone else what is not right about them – that they never get the time to see how much is messed up in their own pizza topping world.
but that is simply my two cents watching the ever saddening state of the USA political system on the international news. I am amazed the public even puts up with it. or are they all too busy looking at their favorite pizza toping and ignoring their neighbor as well?
