I have a lot of topics to write about in the next few weeks, much of it is about observing human beings and various cultural and social behaviors on various parts of the world. this morning I woke up to seemingly forgetting about the lost people of the nameless city who somehow get trapped in the middle of the country with wherever their journey/adventure/life and dreams was taking them. perhaps this is why the local diner puts hot sauce on the table with any meal? it helps folks wandering the street warm up?
I don't know if you ever got stuck at any time or place in your life? it is a great educational experience to go through, but it really can suck at the time.
so in 24 hours, I went from one of the wealthiest countries on the planet, to what might be one of the poorer states in the united states, that happens to have the highest per capita IQ on the planet with the labs up in the mountains, and what I noticed with the travel of the past few months is a scary sight
the entire world is getting more polarized, not just the united states.
when I asked the folks in Switzerland what the biggest international thoughts or fears are, it is that the world will go again into conflict and warfare.
looking at the folks wandering the main drag of this idyllic town for a few wealthy and tourist – I am not sure if the problem here has gotten worse with the homeless and the people tweaking out at 6 am in the morning while I am eating breakfast, or if this problem was always here and I simply did not see it?
perhaps I did not understand when I heard of the locals talk about the “most people” that are here.
while it is an amazingly beautiful city to get lost in and the area around it has some of nature’s most beautiful god created splendor – I wonder if the people even know they are lost?
are they simply too busy trying to survive to see? or they just keep moving so they don’t have to remember their dream?
losing hope and your dreams are something terrible. the truth is that many people don’t want people to go for their dreams, as they are risky and not all come true. what I will close within this 10 minutes is the message – “find your passion in life – something you would do if no one ever paid you – make that your dream – and the money will follow.”
if it doesn’t, you will have lived the most fulfilling adventure that many people can only dream of.
I am a bit sad to see the disparity in the nation, and the reality of mass urban centers coming true for most of the planet. will they forget about how amazing nature is? will they get lost inside their own minds inside their cities?
time will tell.
it saddens me…I am overhearing the tales of the lost people walking out on their bills, shooting up in the bathroom, one could make an interesting photo book of the lost people. the problem would be I don’t know how to bring dignity into the photos of what happened to the people who lost their compass and fell into the habits they are currently in? I can’t even take a photo of the line of people all bundled up and cold…walking along the street…but I can buy them a warm cup of coffee. later.
