I think the journey for each human, and the choice to explore and grow into the idea of something beyond man on this planet, and with the sheer size and smallness within the cosmos is that age-old idea of spirituality and that there is something out there that we can’t yet quantify with science, but we have to have faith in the unseen until a day that perhaps we all realize there is a lot more going on than we can see and hear with our human sense and body.
when I was a kid, I felt there was something far greater than going to a church, sitting in one of the older more traditional denominations and repeating what seemed like a similar service over and over. there were many questions of “why?” that were left unanswered by the older people in that in hindsight, they didn’t know, were ignorant, or simply were too stuck in themselves and their stuff to want to really change.
what saddens me about religions is that the message appears to be about love and living in harmony with our fellow man. on earth, the reality is that man has figured out a way to keep the people separate from each religious group thinking they are the chosen one and only on the planet. I really don’t know who is right or wrong. I a sense I think each is missing the mark of the larger image of the cosmos with god being actual pure love.
every time I try to explain or discuss the idea of “pure” love, I unusually get met with strange bewildering looks. we all have experienced (I hope) moments of great love in our lives, those emotional times and reactions where we feel a high and connection with people, nature, or the universe. they are great, yet, they are limited to human “feelings.”
pure love, I am talking about is some element in the universe…but it is something I doubt we can comprehend within the construct of our human bodies and form. it is like a man trying to go off into deep space and explore the cosmos. there are a few problems. first is the man is NOT designed to do very well outside of this known planet, and the second is the sheer size and scale of distance with the universe is mind-boggling. is there another dimension we are unaware of with our human limitations that we don’t know about or can’t access?
if you look at complex geometry and other mathematical groups, there are several dimensions that we have proven with math – yet – our human minds and bodies can’t see what they might really be like.
with spirituality, I have a lot of folks getting into probably the reality of the universe with waves, frequencies and other things we do realize, can be harnessed to improve the element in our bodies with a sort of healing wave. call it our souls? and or the healing of the soul and body that religions discuss, yet, perhaps the mystery of God and spirituality is that we simply have to let go of ourselves and ask for help, or say, “hey, I give up…can you show me what the path is?”
the world we live in is littered with a plethora of really cool things, objects, and stuff that we can fill our time doing and technologies accelerate and the reality of humanity, machines, and artificial intelligence coming to a convergence. we theoretically should have more free time to explore ourselves” and improve ourselves in the way of learning to love each other.
the reality is that in history, the more freed time we seem to have, the more entertainment and “stuff” we seem to consume to fill a void within ourselves.
how do we create something that allows humans that want to change the ability to access themselves without manipulating, and/or via keeping the choice of “free choice or will” available.
what you will see soon is that people will not have much of a choice as the people, systems, and economies based more on fear and creating an illusion that one is safe will soon roll out.
I guess that is the beauty of life and the journey? the irony is when I saw this idea actually working, it was from people who walked away from the world and went and lived in caves or monasteries to go into themselves and heal what was broken inside their hearts and souls.
the developed world is becoming more fragmented and stressed. in Europe, I see people more interested in a seeming repetition of a model for a quality of life that has good moments in spending time and talking with each other. this is great, but I don’t see much change. in the USA, we are living to work, as the capitalistic consumer model has handcuffed many with debt loads that pull back the curtain of the American dream and the need for capitalism’s weakness (perpetual growth) to happen to sustain the systems.
you really don’t need much to truly be happy in the heart and soul. in fact, it might be the best way to actually grow in the spirit, by letting go of all and allowing something to guide or lead you. the trick here is to ask, “is this me? something not so great? or the good of love – beyond the romanticized view based on human emotion, that is guiding me.”
then again, we all might simply be some species that feel we are somehow very special and the reality is we are nothing more than a giant ant farm of sorts that has to learn to live with our planet than consume it, or each other.
we simply are not created to exist very well in deep space, much less endure the time it takes to get anywhere until some time travel machine is developed.
