I really wonder what I will find and think when I go back to the USA and visit. Right now it appears the USA is a bit of a microcosm of the bigger global image – each person, race, creed, color and religion is in some way fighting for a small piece of turf in the overall humanity pie.
One can blame the internet, the dilution of media, and the widening chasm between wealth inequality inside the usa – the problem is that this issue will somehow find itself moving on a global trajectory soon.
All you have to do is look that Donald trump is in the lead for the republican nomination. Why? Because there are a lot of people who are fed up with the way inside the beltway politicians have been working. Of course the rank and file norm is going to be upset if someone comes in out of the blue with ideas and says things that will take away from the feed trough that has plenty.
On the democratic side, as much as I think Hillary Clinton would be a great president – I think she is so entrenched with her ex, the not for profit funding feed trough life, and simply being in the game so long – that I don’t think she see’s the reality anymore of the usa. If she does? Perhaps there are rose-colored filters inside the beltway that blind the politicians to the reality inside much of the country.
Now I just read some blurb that a world famous boxer was banned from a shopping mall because he made comments that the gay community didn’t like.
The black community is crying foul for any race related issue, everyone is wearing body cams, and then I can find a myriad of bad behavior with school videos, after school, or late night after hours brawls and people acting the fool.
All I can think of is that every is building walls up. Instead of more peace, there is more violence and anger.
Few are looking at that which is different and saying, “hey, this person is a human being too! Just like me…”
Instead, it appears everyone is pointing the finger at the other person, finger extended and pointed, while their feet are sunk in concrete
“You need to move first…then I will think about changing myself.”
The aforementioned line is but a recipe for disaster.
Why not a little common sense, respect for each other, and yes – some moral ethic or fiber for each human that has to be adhered to by all….treat the other as you wish to be treated…ideally love.
That is too simple a solution? Or have people been so beat down in the USA that they don’t know how to love anything but themselves?
Change is a choice.
Repeating the same behavior and expecting a different result, is by Einstein’s definition – insanity.
