Insanity – having to go back and bomb your own weapons.

a bomb of a different kind.  a prayer (c) mark somple 2014

I watched the latest footage from what I will call another installment of the “restless world.”    It was of American carrier based fighter aircraft doing bomb runs in Iraq.   What I was thinking about with the jets landing was what are the actual forces the pilot must experience when coming to a rapid stop?

Then I watched the bombing runs and really have no idea why the footage is even being released?  it just appears to add another layer of "is this a dream?" when one ponders how convoluted policy appears to the average person on the street.

When people find I am from the United States, many times they ask, “What is your government actually doing with foreign policy?”

Lately, I have to simply shrug my shoulders and say, “I really don’t know.”  My mind attempts to think about the complexities of the modern world and how intertwined everything is can make ones head spin.   this is without knowing the details of the "secrets" of governments and smokey back room alliances that would probably make us all shudder and go "wtf?" with who is actually helping whom.

Much time I have to politely listen and hear some not so nice things said about my home country.   Most of the time it is fine, you smile and move on.   It is always better than the one guy in Hiroshima that screamed at me and blamed me for my country dropping the atomic bomb on the city many years before I was ever born.

That answer of “I don’t know” is gleaned from simply looking at all that has transpired since 9-11 and what in hindsight appear to be some really questionable actions and inconsistencies in policy.   Inside the United States it looks a certain way, to the media outside the United States, it is reported in a completely different way.

The irony of what came out in the brainstorm yesterday with Augmanity.  It addresses the issue of reality versus perspective among human beings.

Until I get the idea built, I will just have to smile, be polite and realize that in the world, there are many nationalities that will criticize whatever my home country does, but, when trouble comes to their nation, there is further irony in that the first number on the speed dial for “help” is my home country.

At the end of the day, I have no logic or rational explanation for why today jets have to go out, to basically destroy equipment that was bought & purchased and left in a in another country…by my home country.

God, please help.   (My simple prayer for the world)
