Life for the next year, having to be patient and wait, reminds me of being stuck back in normal rote learning in 8th grade in school after they let us learn at our own pace in the 7th grade. It’s like giving a kid some wings and letting him fly and then taking the wings back, “sorry, you can’t fly anymore, we changed the rules again.”
I am at a tipping point with weight and getting in better shape to take off the last few pounds and be where I want, or, I can simply ingest massive quantities of delicious brats and sausages and act the American and get a larger waistline.
As i wait for my class to start, i think of the difference in learning between simply reading a book and memorizing some information, and reading the book, actually doing the work/idea, and then processing and knowing more than the book smarts. The first is good, but I think the second is better. Perhaps it was reading Booker T. Washington’s biography that I think the world of brains meets hands is a good overall balance for a human.
What I am sensing in our world, and the question that was asked to me last week was, “what is going to happen to all the jobs with the rush of technology and robots that will become available?” What it led me to was the design for the overall Augmanity group and a great deal more refinement for the Agrowvillage group.
When people ask me about diet and nutrition, I have probably guinea pigged myself more in the past 8 years with diet and nutrition. I remember the first test was “what do the kids feel like?” I implemented a one meal a day diet, which had a similar caloric intake, and it wasn’t very long before I realized how bad the diet was for a growing child, but secondly, you felt stupid and lethargic all day long.
The answer to solving the problem came from a man I know that has a Turkish coffee roasting company in phoenix. He used to go around the world with an interlocking building block system and build casinos.
“Mark, people used to think I was a genius and someone to work for. The truth is, with workers in a 3rd world country, you gave them one meal a day. At first I didn’t realize this was all they ate was the meal after work. The problem was when they got to work; they had no energy and were hungry until the evening meal. I changed this by feeding them two meals a day. “
The same principle was used in the original Agrowbox ideas. The first time I did the one meal plan, I was walking around in a strange stupor. You were alive, breathing and moving, but your mind slowly turned to mush. I guess if you can imagine your brain being made of cotton and you add water to it that would be how your mind operated after several days with minimal food.
It took about 5-6 weeks of this diet, which I guess would be considered almost a raw vegan diet (juicing included) where we grew everything and supplemented it with rice and grains that we knew could be purchased anywhere in the world to add fiber and filler. What transpired was that the body felt amazingly healthy.
I have debated the idea of animal versus plant protein with several friends for a sense of muscular power, as well as had to sense the high intake of soy milk and products on how I felt sans any bloodworm to look at exactly what was going on inside my body.
This is how we developed the original diet for Agrowbox. We added sources of vitamin c with the leafy veggies as a way for kids to help the kids absorb some iron with the lack of animal proteins.
I guess it was having a meal at a friend’s house that grew all the vegetables in the salad that had me flash back to the amazing flavors and tastes that the Agrowbox diet gave. It was flavorful, healthy and fresh.
What the west would find odd is that most of the plants didn’t “look pretty” to the eye.
I guess that is what genetic modification is to food. “Make-up” to look pretty on the store shelf.
Anyone know the weight companies place on their vegetables looking pretty?
