I am really excited that the German class is interested in participating in the “I come from…” idea. It keeps my mind occupied on something other than all the rules of the German language, and makes it a fun reason to attend class. The only part I am bummed about is my cameras are in the USA, and the iphone simply will never come close to capturing what I see in my mind or head. It is ok, I have a few ideas for the future. it is frustrating to see what the final will eventually look like in your mind, but sometimes, like now, you just start with what you have.
It is a bit odd here; there will be holidays that I am not really familiar with. In the states we had Memorial Day weekend and classes are cancelled here for the next few days with what I can make out to be a holiday for the ascension for the church, and then some other non-religious holiday on Friday that I really have no idea what it is about. All I know is Rosetta stone is coming out again and I hope that I made progress in understanding grammar, conjugation and what confounds me with der, die and das. At least in the plural sense, everything is “die.”
So while I try to figure a way to compensate for the iphones inability to overcome a challenging indoor lighting mess with portraits, I leave you with a cool stairwell image. I have no idea where you are trying to get to, but may your journey upward be full of adventure, excitement and joy.
If you should find yourself running on a treadmill like a gerbil, get off, take the stairs!
