When I was younger, even though I knew ROYGBIV was the simple way I was taught to remember the full spectrum of light that was visible to the human eye, my ignorant mind tended to think that the world was black and white. Years later, after what appears to be many lives somehow lived within one, I am more convinced that the world is an incalculable amount of shades of gray. Each person has what an old friend said was a few bouts of insanity thrown into one's life to teach them they weren’t as wonderful and normal as one would like to believe.
Perhaps that is why when we do see the wonderful colors with our eyes with foliage, faces, flowers, places and things – we see our fellow man, and perhaps we tend to judge him and wonder about them through our mind’s “shades of gray” filters. Once i might have said, “this is right, this is wrong, this is good, or this is bad.” Today it has me go to a place where i stop looking outside myself, and then inward, where i go "oh man...i have the same problem."
when you see the various shades of gray in everything, you realize you have the same strengths & weaknesses as every other human on the planet.
somehow, you stop judging others so much and you start judging yourself much more. you come into your own and realized that the various shades of gray suits and jackets you wear, Is just fine. Thankfully gray is a good color for me. :o)
